Hey everyone! This mod was made the week the game came out back in 2015 and is VERY OLD. It doesn’t have any problems but there will be no new features going forward, especially because mods such as the amazing Armorsmith Extended handle glove crafting and much, much more. I would install that instead if you want anything more than basic gloves! Thank you!

DESCRIPTION

Created with FO4Edit for your peace-of-mind, but as with any early pre-CK mod, back up your save, and use at your own risk!

Gloves of the Commonwealth adds 16 pairs of equippable gloves from the various outfits in the game, letting you wear gloves with any non-gloved armor, such as the Vault Suit. I wanted to wear some gloves with my Road Leathers, and decided to add the rest of the gloves.

Unfortunately this will not currently work with outfits that have attached gloves. Equipping the gloves while wearing one of those outfits (such as Field Scribe) will make you naked (with gloves on!) I looked into removing the gloves from those outfits, and was successful in doing so, but they had large gaps at the wrist because the mesh would need to be updated to show more of the bare arm, which cannot be done yet with current tools.

Please keep in mind this is a very simple method to just make existing gloves ‘appear’, and as such clipping and gaps with certain combos is possible, as the gloves were originally modeled for their specific outfits. I have no control over the models themselves until tools become available to do so.

Future versions will include all outfits once the tools are available to make that possible. Inclusion into vendor leveled lists etc. is also planned.

Included are Athletic Gloves, Brotherhood of Steel Gloves, Cait’s Gloves, Institute Worker Gloves, Kellog’s Gloves, Minutemen Gloves, Raider Gloves, Raider Gloves II, Desmonda’s Gloves, Grognak’s Gloves, Resident Gloves, Wastelander Gloves, Railroad Gloves, Silver Shroud Gloves, Utility Gloves.

DESCRIPTION

WEST TEK TACTICAL OPTICS adds new tactical goggles and eyepieces, featuring new meshes and textures, which are fully modular, craftable, and upgradeable at the the armor workbench, with 3 primary vision effects with various brightness options, 2 secondary enhancements, and 8 colors. The base goggles give +1 perception, and any combination of mods can be added to customize them for your play style or appearance. All mods can be switched between the goggles and the eyepiece. Once you unlock crafting, you’ll be able to also craft large schematic posters for each of the items, which look pretty sweet in your workbench area (see images.)

As of version 2.0, a toggle switch is implemented, and a multi-vision mode with vision cycling can be added. In addition, ALL VISION MODES ARE AVAILABLE ON POWER ARMORS! Lastly, the goggles have the option to animate up onto the forehead position when toggles! Please see this article or watch the video for details!

The night vision goggles are a 100% new mesh and textures that I made from scratch, and am pretty happy how they turned out. The eyepiece I cut out of the Institute Worker outfit, added a few things, cleaned it up, fixed the UV and made new textures.

The vision modes were made for dark environments, and as such it is highly recommended to be paired along with mods such as Darker Nights and Interiors Enhanced. I am open to making variants of brightness levels, but please understand I can’t accommodate every request, as everyone’s monitor brightness and viewing situations are wildly different.

The following mods are available for both sets of optics:

The high-tech goggles have a low chance to spawn on high-level Gunners, low-tech on Raiders and Super Mutants. They will also be for sale by Lucas Miller, Cricket, KLE-O, and Proctor Teagan starting around level 16, so there’s a chance you can find some out in the wild. However, you cannot modify any optics you find until you have read the schematics and have the required perks. There are two options available for lists, Standard (which will require merging into your patch by hand, my preference) or Script-Injected, which is plug-and-play.

BACKSTORY

West Tek was a pre-war defense contractor working for the United States government, which created the T-45d and T-51b power armors, as well as the FEV virus. If you read the delivery letter you’ll learn a bit more about where these optics came from.

This mod adds a toggle option for the various primary visual effects for FadingSignal’s WEST TEK TACTICAL OPTICS mod.
It uses Registrator2000’s FO4 Hotkeys mod to do it.
Please follow install instructions as installing all files with a mod manager will not work as intended.

WHAT ELSE

I also took the liberty of adjusting some values with some of the effects to balance it more and make it more friendly with other mods.
The Night Vision effect now uses the vanilla night vision, this means it will benefit from mods that change this such as: Alternate Vision by Unforbidable.
This also means you can modify the brightness of the night vision yourself.
Secondly, I modified the thermal vision effect to be a little more balanced. It now highlights all living creatures and also applies a detect life spell to it so you can partially see living beings through walls, but the image space is also not as bright as it was and now suffers a lack of contrast. This makes it difficult to use constantly but is good for scouting out enemies.

You no longer need to upgrade the pieces to get the primary visual effects, they just come standard with the armor piece as the script attaches them whether you have the mods or not, but you still need to complete the quest in the original mod in order to craft secondary visual modes (recon effect and vats targeting matrix) as well as to craft the armor in the first place.
As such, the constructible object recipes and loose mods have been removed for redundancy.
The cosmetic versions of these mods have also been removed, so keep that in mind if you are a screen archer and want the different coloured lenses without the visual effects.
In actuality, none of the records used in the original have actually been removed, theyve just been modified to not show up in the workbench any more to save confusion, but they still exist in the original ESP, so if you know how to use FO4Edit you can simply remove the overridden COBJ files if you want these options back.

For now I have only applied this script to work with the goggles and eyepieces when they are down and have not included the goggles up version, I believe they should be purely cosmetic. I am going to work on having a toggle to switch between goggles up and goggles down, although it wont be animated.

3. Install the _BASE file you chose with a mod manager of your choice.

I have included a merge utility thanks to Registrator2000, it is a batch file though that needs to be run with admin rights. As such, I understand if anyone is cautious, so will include instructions on how to manually patch your Hotkeys.ini aswell.

Download the _HotkeysPatcher of your choice from the optional files section.
Option 1 uses Numpad Keys 1 2 and 3 to toggle effects, this will conflict with mods that also use these keys such as place anywhere.
Option 2 uses keys [ ] and \ to toggle effects. I am unaware of any other mods that use these keys.

Extract the rar file anywhere on your computer, desktop is fine. Run the update_hotkeys.cmd file as admin.
This will locate your existing hotkeys.ini and add that relevant lines where they need to go.

Option 1 (Numpad keys 1 2 and 3)

Looking at the above lines it should be pretty easy to figure out how to modify this to use whatever keys youd like, here is an article on how to set key bindings (again, thanks to registrator2000) Possible Keybinds.

I will be working on a version of this mod that also works with my Scouter mod, they will use the same keybindings but will both work at the same time since the script always checks if the armor piece is currently being worn, and both my Scouter and the West Tek gear both use the same slots.
I will also be adding the thermal vision concept to my scouter.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod needs to be loaded AFTER the original West Tek Tactical Optics mod in order for it to work or you WILL crash.
Option 1 keys (Num 1 2 3) will conflict with mods like place anywhere. I have included a second option using [ ] \ instead.
You can also change the keybindings yourself by modifying the hotkeys.ini in your data folder, see above in the INSTALLATION section.

RECOMMENDED MODS

Alternate Vision by Unforbidable (Will only affect the NewEffects version of this mod)
Customizable Targeting HUD by C4PON3 (Will work on both version, but needs to be loaded AFTER the WestTek original mod and my patch mod).

West Tek Tactical Optics

Как получить предметы:
Вы должны будете найти схемы, они находятся под столом в ближайшей ко входу комнате в здании компании «Мед-Тек Рисёрч». После чего вы сможете создавать предметы в химлаборатории во вкладке «Служебный». Также с маленьким шансом очки спавнятся у Стрелков, и изредка могут быть доступны на продажу у Лукаса Миллера.
