Spawn [ ]

Menace spawns by choosing the challenge option when talking to the Menacing Person Town NPC, which only appears at night after the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu has been defeated. They can also be summoned by talking to the Funky Soul next to the Astrologist NPC at night.

Upon challenging the Mysterious Person/Astrologist, they will do a short animation of forming a giant Angry Nimbus and then begin the fight.

Behavior [ ]

Menace will always stay airborne throughout the fight, using several star attacks and ice attacks, even Tetris ice blocks in Phase 2. During every attack except the Ice Swords, Menace will follow the player’s movement.

Phase 2 [ ]

Upon reaching 50% HP, Menace will enter phase 2. Their previous attacks will stay the same, however Menace will gain 2 new attacks.

Aftermath [ ]

Upon defeating Menace, she will fall out of her cloud and bounce once onto any blocks they fall ontop of. During this, she’ll say «Nothing bad ever happens to the Menace!» and then get struck by lightning a couple seconds later, ending the fight. The camera will pan over to Menace during the lightning strike.

Alongside this, the Astrologist NPC will be able to move in, which allows the player to re-fight Menace at night.

One-Shot is a mid pre-hardmode boss, intended to be fought after the Eater of Worlds or the Brain of Cthulhu.

Spawn [ ]

One-Shot does not spawn on his own, and must be summoned with a Snow Beacon in the Stranded Ship biome. He cannot spawn if he exists in any form in the world, including:

Behavior [ ]

Upon being summoned, One-Shot looks around, takes off his hat and bows (only the first time he is challenged), and then teleports and starts the fight. One-Shot always teleports to a random place after attacking, and executes a new attack.

When One-Shot’s health drops below 50%, the second phase of the fight starts. His glasses fall off and he is surrounded by a cosmetic effect similar to the light blue flames produced by the vanilla Hades Dye. When in this form, One-Shot’s attacks become more intense:

Upon being defeated, One-Shot drops his loot and is briefly surrounded by sparks of electricity before falling down through blocks and despawning. Defeating One-Shot for the first time will allow the Librarian to spawn.

Throughout a modded playthrough, the player can collect various bits of information that help piece together One-Shot’s story.

According to Genoshi, Oscar Loneshot used to be a scientist and inventor in the Nexus. At some point, he started stealing resources and experimenting with forbidden technology, which led to him becoming a wanted criminal in the Nexus. Oscar escaped to the player’s dimension with his base, his entourage, all of his possessions and research material. However, he miscalculated the landing coordinates and his sail ship ended up in the Underground Tundra, stuck under tons of ice, which caused the death of most of the crew, save for one.

After the player summons Spirit, she mistakes them for Oscar or one of his crew, calling them a criminal and deciding to attack them. After Spirit is defeated, her boss Genoshi arrives in the player’s dimension, both curious about the player and aware that it is the dimension where Oscar has landed. Indeed, Genoshi is the one who instigated the inhabitants of the Nexus to chase Oscar, and personally travels to the player’s dimension in pursuit of the fugitive.

In hardmode, the player can challenge Mirage, who is later revelaed to be Oscar’s secret lover: Mirage came looking for him after he had gone missing. After being defeated, she can occasionally be found in the Underground Tundra, combing One-Shot’s hair and lamenting his fate. The Librarian is found alongside the two, and he explains that he remembered being Oscar’s agent, and that he decided to stay with his boss and protect him from Genoshi.

Bosses

The Spirit Mod adds 8 new bosses and 10 minibosses to the game.

5 bosses are pre-Hardmode, 3 are Hardmode. 9 minibosses are pre-Hardmode and 1 is Hardmode.

In Expert Mode, these bosses have more health and deal more damage. They also drop Treasure Bags, containing unique, Expert Mode-exclusive items.

Scarabeus is an armored scarab with 1,700 health (2,250 in Expert Mode). It tries to dash into the player, and summons scarabs to attack them. It can be summoned with a Scarab Idol in the desert, during the daytime.

Moon Jelly Wizard [ ]

The Moon Jelly Wizard is a playful group of Moon Jellies with 1,600 health (2,560 in Expert Mode) that is intended to be fought after defeating the Eye of Cthulhu. It is summoned with a Dreamlight Jelly anywhere during the night. It rapidly dashes and dives at the player while casting various electric spells, as well as kicking out dreamlight bubbles and shooting Tiny Lunazoas at the player. Once defeated, the Moon Jellies hiding under its robes will flee as its hat falls to the ground.

The Moon Jelly Wizard drops a variety of weapons and armor pieces themed around the spells it casts during its encounter. It also drops the Cornucop-ion in Expert Mode, a classless weapon that can charge lightning bolts to be cast at nearby enemies for high damage.

Vinewrath Bane is a vine-clad monstrosity with 5,300 health (8,800 health in Expert Mode) split over both forms. It fires nature-themed projectiles at the player. It has 3,200 health (5,440 in Expert Mode) in its first phase, and 2,100 health (3,360 in Expert Mode) in its second phase. It can be summoned with a Bramble Tooth in the underground Briar biome at any time.

The Ancient Avian is a skeletal harpy with 3,100 health (4,960 in Expert Mode). It flies above the player and fires projectiles at the player. It can be summoned with a Feather Crown around Floating Island heights or by breaking an Ancient Egg that spawns in the Avian Islands nest.

The Starplate Voyager is a galactic worm with 10,000 health (12,000 in Expert Mode). It fires electricity-themed projectiles at the player. It can be summoned with a Starplate Beacon at an Astralite Beacon in the Asteroid Fields.

Infernon is an infernal demon with 13,000 health (26,000 in Expert Mode). He is summoned by using a Pain Caller in The Underworld. Throughout the fight he flies above the player, rarely swooping down and firing projectiles. After reaching half of its health, it summons the Infernus Skull. It then continues firing a variety of projectiles.

Infernon drops weapons themed around fire and the underworld, as well as Torment Shards, which can be used to craft the Pain Monger armor. It drops the Fiery Lash in Expert Mode, which causes enemies to be inflicted with On Fire! when you walk past them.

Atlas is a colossal rocky creature with 41,000 health (69,700 in Expert Mode). It shoots projectiles and summons Cobbled Eyes as its health depletes. It can be summoned with a Stone Fist anywhere, at any time.

Mini-Bosses [ ]

Beholder [ ]

Beholder is a mini-boss that occasionally spawns in Marble Caves after Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu is defeated. It constantly flies around the player and dashes at them, siphoning the player’s mana on contact and inflicting the Bleeding debuff. The Beholder will also randomly teleport and remain stationary while shooting ricocheting fireballs at them which inflict the On Fire! debuff.

Darkfeather Mage [ ]

Darkfeather Mage is a magical bird wizard that is found on the Surface at anytime after starting the Adventurer’s quest for the Darkfeather Visage. It flies toward the player while using a variety of green bolt attacks.

Fallen Angel [ ]

Fallen Angel is a holy angel that is found in Space in Hardmode. It attacks the player while flying by dashing at them four times. In Expert Mode, it inflicts the Cursed debuff on contact. After dashing, it releases a cluster of homing shooting stars at the player.

Glade Wraith [ ]

Glade Wraith is an overgrown wraith that is summoned by destroying a Wildwood Altar or using a Glade Wreath found in Briar Chests. It can also spawn naturally in the Briar. It attempts to fly towards the player and begins shooting leaves constantly, occasionally stopping to throw a barrage of Thorn Balls that bounce against tiles.

Haunted Tome [ ]

Haunted Tome is a possessed spell book that is found as a placed book in the Dark Sepulchre structures. It summons screaming skulls that are fired towards the player and also summons paper airplanes that are fired towards them.

Mechromancer [ ]

Mechromancer is a mechanic goblin that is found during a Goblin Army after Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu is defeated. He walks towards the player and summons Coil Drones that descend slowly before exploding on contact. After summoning the drones, he will fly above the player with Rocket Boots and leave behind damaging embers. After flying, he fires three homing rockets that inflict the On Fire! debuff.

Occultist [ ]

Occultist is an undead necromancer that spawns during a Blood Moon. It summons Zombies and Blood Zombies simultaneously while occasionally summoning Dark Grasps that inflicts the Obstructed debuff. When summoned enemies have low health, it will kill them one at a time and heal itself for each one killed.

Snaptrapper [ ]

Snaptrapper is a miniboss that rarely spawns in the Jungle after defeating the Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu. It uses a pounce attack that flings the player in the direction it pounces towards. If it is out of reach of the player, it will spit moss balls towards them, which have a chance to inflict the Poisoned debuff.

R’lyehian is a purple tidal spirit with 2,800 health (5,600 in Expert Mode). It flies and fires a multitude of projectiles. It spawns at the end of the Tide event in pre-Hardmode.

Snow Monger [ ]

The Snow Monger is an enormous robotic machine controlled by a Penguin that spawns during the Frost Legion. It floats above the player, shooting ice blasts, ice beams, and lunging at them. It has 5600 health (11200 in Expert Mode) and cannot be summoned manually.
