Random Rolls FAQ
A: This item is capable of rolling with random perks when it drops. For example, every time you get a Better Devils from Shaxx, it has the potential to be a slightly different version than others before it — maybe better, maybe worse.
A: The dashed boxes contain the perks that Bungie’s API says are possibilities in each column when the item drops.
A: The perks outside of the boxes are a fixed, «curated» roll from Bungie. Sometimes, that fixed version of the item will drop fully masterworked (see Nation of Beasts or Vouchsafe for examples). Other times, those perks are just for display, such as when you preview an item from your collection.
A: If the item is capable of randomly rolling one of its fixed-roll perks, it will be included in the random rolls section as well.
Community Average Rolls FAQ
A: Community Average Rolls are a way of «crowdsourcing» what the best roll is on each weapon. By scouring the global Destiny population using the Bungie API, we are able to see which perks a wide variety of players select for each weapon. Those stats are presented as the Community Average Roll.
A: As part of this feature, we are now tracking all active players using the Bungie API, not just those who have signed in on light.gg. The statistics displayed here are based on all players that have logged in over the past 2 weeks.
A: Yes and no. Every player should be seen by our scraper. The process will compute stats on items seen in the vault / inventory of players who have granted access to their «non-equipped Inventory». However, the default Bungie.net permissions only allow us to see the full details on weapons that are equipped by each player’s characters.
A: Partially. Presumably if someone has the weapon equipped, they like it, which would mean that the perks equipped on it are perceived to be better. At the same time, most people are probably dismantling rolls that they think are bad, so even if we could see their whole inventory, we might not catch many «dud» rolls. Overall, the phenomenon of (mostly) only being able to see equipped rolls will reduce the overall number of rolls on less popular weapons, but the perks on those that are visible will likely trend toward being more popular, otherwise people wouldn’t keep the roll, let alone equip it.
A: The bars for each percentage are relative to the most popular perk in that column. The most popular perk will fill its bar, and each perk under that will illustrate how popular it is relative to the most popular. So, if 22% of rolls use the most popular perk in a column and 11% of rolls use the least popular perk, the bar on the least popular perk should appear to be roughly half full. The intent of displaying it this way is to create better contrast between the options.

The more people that allow full access to their inventory, the more weapons we’ll be able to detect, and the more comprehensive the statistics that fall out of that will be.
Item Sunsetting FAQ
A: Bungie has announced that beginning in Season 12, weapons will have a cap on the power to which you are able to infuse them. We’re calling this process «sunsetting».
A: There will be one large sunset beginning in Season 12, in which all* legendary weapons and armor from Seasons 1-8 will be retired. After that, weapons and armor will essentially be sunset 1 year after their release.
A: Yes. Bungie has stated that exotics will not sunset. Beyond that, gear from the Last Wish and Garden of Salvation raids will play by different rules than standard armor and weapons, though Bungie has not been fully clear on what those rules will be.
A: Not exactly. This change essentially only matters in activities where power matters, such as raids, Nightfalls, Trials, etc. In most open world activities and standard Crucible playlists, you will still be able to use whatever armor/weapons you want.
Furthermore, Bungie has also hinted that they intend to «re-issue» certain weapons/armor in the future, thus giving them another 12 months in the sun.

Overall, the phenomenon of (mostly) only being able to see equipped rolls will reduce the overall number of rolls on less popular weapons, but the perks on those that are visible will likely trend toward being more popular, otherwise people wouldn’t keep the roll, let alone equip it.

The most popular perk will fill its bar, and each perk under that will illustrate how popular it is relative to the most popular. Весь лоб существа и половина его «лица» были покрыты металлическими пластинами. Спереди из головы выступал какой-то патрубок, испускавший струйки голубоватого пара. Плечи покрывала мешанина из грубой ткани и металлической сетки. На шее нелепо болталась ленточка «Авангарда».
По меркам эликсни посетитель был небольшого роста, но, даже сгорбившись на стуле, тот все равно нависал над Морисом. Уставившись на него четырьмя синими глазами, существо приоткрыло лишенный губ рот, обнажив ряды похожих на шипы острых зубов.
– Одну единицу супа лапши, – медленно проскрипел эликсни. – Пожалуйста.
Морис задержал дыхание, покрепче сжал карандаш и осклабился. Он всегда улыбался, когда нервничал, и сейчас эта привычка пришлась как нельзя более кстати.
Эликсни в ответ тоже ухмыльнулся и вновь распахнул свою жуткую пасть.
– Я нюхал. Запах хороший, – пояснило существо.
Морис глянул на других посетителей. Все до единого сидели, неподвижно застыв перед дымящимися чашками с лапшой. Внезапно он осознал, что его рот, видимо, решил как ни в чем ни бывало продолжить разговор:
– Сколько класть специй, по шкале от одного до пяти?
Эликсни явно был готов к такому вопросу.
– Много специй, шкала пять, – ответил тот, подняв три растопыренных когтя на одной лапе и еще два на другой. – И дополнительную мертвую плоть, пожалуйста.
– Будет сделано, – на автомате произнес Морис и вернулся обратно к кастрюле. В дело включилась мышечная память, и вскоре он уже ставил перед задорно пощелкивающим челюстями существом дымящуюся чашку лапши.
Морис сделал шажок назад. Снаружи перед лавкой уже собралась небольшая толпа зевак. Кое-кто из посетителей, чье любопытство перевесило ужас, вытягивали шеи. Морис заметил, что женщине за вторым столиком нужно налить еще воды, но решил, что это подождет.
Эликсни вопросительно поднял конечности и снова посмотрел на Мориса.
Не зная, в какие из двух пар глаз смотреть, Морис предпочел сосредоточить внимание на лапше.
– Ну, берете лапшу, мясо и яйца и…
– Яйца, – повторил эликсни, смакуя новое для себя слово.
– Ну да, яйца. И едите это все палочками. А бульон потом черпаете ложкой, – керамическая ложка казалась в клешне эликсни не больше чайной. – Ну или просто берете чашку и отхлебываете.
Морис жестами показал, как отпивает из чашки. Эликсни кивнул. Когтями он дотронулся до своей головы, и из патрубка перестал вырываться голубоватый пар.
Эликсни взвесил палочки в руке, аккуратно отложил их в сторону и верхними руками поднес чашку ко рту, закрыв все четыре глаза.
В повисшей в лавке напряженной тишине последовала череда отрывистых хлюпающих звуков.
Наконец эликсни опустил пустую чашку и сделал глубокий вдох. Из патрубка снова вырвалась струйка голубоватого пара. Существо обернулось к Морису.
– Спасибо, – произнесло оно удовлетворенно, – я поел и наелся.
Застывшая улыбка на лице Мориса сменилась вполне искренней.
Эликсни поднялся со стула и протянул Морису что-то вроде миниатюрной модели Странника. Сияя, та парила в воздухе над ладонью эликсни.
– Вознаграждение, – произнесло существо.
Морис потянулся к предложенному дару, но затем убрал руку. – Для новых гостей первый обед в подарок, – сказал он. – Без вознаграждения. Спасибо, что зашли.
Эликсни склонил голову на бок, прищелкнул челюстями и спрятал драгоценную вещицу в складки плаща. А затем улыбнулся Морису.
– Вы, – произнесло существо, гулко откашлявшись. – Вы… Пять слов, которые последовали за этим, состояли из сочетаний твердых согласных.
В последовавшей ошеломленной тишине эликсни вежливо кивнул и вышел из лапшичной, направившись куда-то вглубь Города.

There is a story of two weaponsmiths, both skilled at their trade.
One smith, Dhutus, worked with metals she pulled from the mountains herself. She tooled the rifling in her barrels with the steady hand of an artisan. Her dyes, cobalt and ichor, shone bright as beetleshell.
The other, Gharhet, came from the distant plains. He traded for his wares and sold them dear, and thus he amassed great wealth. He embellished his goods with a rich lacquer the color of flame.
When the Primus called for the strongest warriors to serve, the district knew the fighter Tlamus—who had broken all challengers with her keen aim and powerful frame—would represent them. Both Dhutus and Gharhet wished to outfit her with their finest pieces, as having a warrior of her status wear their colors would bring them great honor.
So Dhutus forged Tlamus a mighty war axe with an ice-blue handle and wide golden blade. Tlamus accepted the gift gladly.
Gharhet procured for her a Slug Rifle with bright orange plating, and Tlamus wore it proudly across her back.
Next, Dhutus crafted a Shotgun, metal burnished deep as night with bright vents along the sides, and Tlamus brought it into battle.
In response, Gharhet bought a helm with thick plating and stout antlers the color of a sunset, and they were soon stained with the blood of Tlamus’s foes.
And Dhutus saw no end to this. Her shoulders ached from working the forge, and her hands were blistered by burns upon burns.
So Dhutus issued to Gharhet a challenge, and as he knew no one would raise the weapons of a coward, Gharhet accepted.
The next dawn found Dhutus on the battlefield waiting for her rival. On her shoulder was her finest weapon: a Rocket Launcher, its barrel a twisting column of seashell blue with gold trim, built as a gift for Tlamus but now wielded by its creator.
From across the field, a figure strode forward to meet Dhutus—but it was too wide to be Gharhet; too tall, too muscular. He had bought a champion to fight in his stead.
An orange sash was draped carelessly across her chest and dragged in the dust with each confident step. Studded orange leathers bound her massive arms and thighs. Strands of coral beads hung from her tusks.
She greeted Dhutus with a fist to her chest. «I am Tlamus,» she said, «chosen of Gharhet.»
Dhutus could not find her voice, and then Tlamus drew one of her beautiful, terrible weapons, and the rite was soon concluded.
