«Трицератопс», альтернативный скин Бегемота, возвращает нас в далекое прошлое – в меловый период!
Этот скин совместим со всеми обычными нарядами Бегемота. Но как так вышло, что среди мирных животных затесался Трицератопс? Никто не знает, хотя до нас доходили слухи о какой-то очень особенной машине.
Лошади он так понравился, что мы сделали сразу 7 цветовых вариантов: синий, оранжевый, зеленый, лиловый, красный, розовый и желтый. Хотя сама Лошадь убеждена, что этот костюм помогает скакать быстрее, на самом-то деле он просто красивый и ничего больше.
Наши животные всей толпой прогулялись в местный парк развлечений, где им особенно приглянулся один аттракцион: сверхскоростные «американские горки»!
Открыв эту карту, игроки смогут расставлять на ней блоки и ловушки так, чтобы благополучно проскочить под рельсами и добраться до финиша на помосте, который установлен по всем нормам безопасности.

Нынешнее обновление вышло намного позже, чем изначально предполагалось, и мы хотим пояснить, почему так случилось. В прошлом году мы поняли, что используемая нами онлайн-архитектура устареет уже в ближайшие годы, и начали обдумывать другие варианты. Нам очень хочется, чтобы Ultimate Chicken Horse как можно дольше оставалась функциональной. К сожалению, то, что казалось простым, оказалось в конечном итоге. не таким уж легким. Выбранные нами решения были не совместимы с той версией Unity, которую мы применяли, когда только задумывали игру. А при обновлении до версии 2020 мы столкнулись с неработоспособностью нескольких плагинов, с неожиданными сложностями то на одной, то на другой игровой платформе и с кучей других проблем. Эта работа заняла гораздо больше времени, чем мы ожидали. Существенную роль в задержке сыграл и COVID. Итак, задуманная нами работа отнимала много времени, и потому мы решили выпустить новый контент, не дожидаясь завершения довольно глубокой технической переделки архитектуры внутреннего интерфейса.
Кроме того, это обновление создавалось параллельно с новым проектом в Clever Endeavour Games, – и он нам очень, очень нравится! Будь наша студия крупной, мы, вероятно, смогли бы регулярно обновлять Ultimate Chicken Horse, одновременно работая над новым проектом. Но нас всего шестеро, и это обновление уже оказало серьезное влияние на разработку нашей новой игры.
И хотя мы совсем не имеем в виду, что перестанем выпускать новый контент для Ultimate Chicken Horse, но это последнее обновление в обозримом будущем. Levels
These are the game’s official levels. They all have unique features and their own designs along with different music. There are 17 official levels in total. Only two of them are available from the beginning (The Farm and Rooftops) and the rest can be unlocked by collecting Mystery Boxes.
The start of a level is generally on the far-left while the goal flag is on the opposite side or at the top.

List of levels
The Farm
This is the smallest of all the levels. It is available from the start and is one of the few that do not have a deadly abyss. The level features a barn on the left side that players can enter, a lethal thresher roughly in the middle and a silo on the right. The ground is covered in tall grass which players can hide coins, traps or teleporters in.
Rooftops
This is the second level that is unlocked from the beginning and it consists of two skyscrapers with a large gap between them players have to build over.
Old Mansion
Multiple platforms which represent a broken down house can be found on this level. There is stable ground on the left side and a bush of lethal thorns on the right. There is also a big piece of sharp glass that can kill players. On both the top and bottom levels of the mansion there is a big red button that triggers the elevator which is located at the top by default. Once activated, it will slowly go down, stop for a moment and go back up.
Pyramid
The left side of this level, where the players start, features a small obelisk in the foreground which objects can be hidden behind. The pyramid which has 4 entrances and two dead ends inside of it is located in the middle of the level. On the right side there is a lethal pool of quicksand as well as a sphinx that moves up and down and is capable of crushing players.
Waterfall
This level consists of a large cliff. The players start beneath it at a small ledge on the left while the goal is on the left side on top of the cliff. This means that it is required to build a way to the right and then up in order to reach it. The water flowing down is only a visual effect and does not interact with any objects or characters. The grass which covers the top of the cliff makes it difficult to see any ice which is placed in it.
Windmill
In this level, the goal is at the top and rotates around a big windmill. The start is on the bottom between a big tank and a partially broken silo on a very small platform. Players can fall to their death everywhere else, even inside of the silo. There is a bigger platform right under the windmill from where the goal can be reached when it is on the lower part of its rotation.
Metal Plant
In this level, the players start on a ledge in the bottom left corner and the goal is located on a block at the top of the level that moves back and forth horizontally. There are seven blocks with honey on them rotating counter-clockwise around the whole map. Beneath is the abyss.
Iceberg
This is the biggest level in the game. The start is on the left at the top of a huge iceberg. There is also a small ledge below that. The majority of the level consists of deadly water but there is a big ship made of ice that slowly moves back and forth. Lethal shards of ice fall from an ice bridge in the foreground at random. The goal is on the right side on top of an igloo.
Dance Party
This is the only level with visual effects. Each time the players spawn, a slightly different effect is applied. Black bars blocking your view periodically is the theme here. Nearly everything is a silhouette, making the level even harder. Besides this the level layout is very simple: Start on the left, goal on the right and abyss in between. Except for the bottom, the map is completely surrounded by walls.
The Pier
This level consists of a flat ground with a broken down dock over it. At the start of the level a big deadly wave appears from the left and travels across the screen. It also carries a surfboard with it the first time it appears. The wave will always appear again after a certain amount of time. Lastly, the goal is located at the very upper-right.
Jungle Temple
On this level the start is in the top left and the goal is below it. Players have to drop down into the temple and then make their way over many lethal spear pits. The level contains a special coin in the bottom right on top of a podium. When a player grabs the coin, a huge boulder comes crashing out of the wall on the right and rolls all the way to the goal. This coin reappears every turn and can also be reached by dropping down through a secret passage above. There is also a hidden area to the left of the start.
Volcano
Full of lava and with few places to stand, this level is one of the most dangerous. The platforms which move up and down on streams of molten rock enable the players to reach the goal at the top right on a huge wall of lava.
The Mainframe
The Mainframe’s basic layout is simple with the start on the left and the goal on the opposite side of a large pit with a small platform in the middle. The gimmick of this level is that there are two large circuit boards in the background that are split up into many 1×1 tiles. Any of these tiles that a player passes by change color and will become solid for the duration of the next round.
Crumbling Bridge
Like the name implies, this level contains a large bridge made of crumbling blocks that is placed over a pit, connecting the start on the left to the goal on the right side. By having players travel across the bridge every turn it will slowly break apart and become smaller.
Nuclear Plant
On this level the start is located at the bottom on an elevator and players must reach the goal at the very top. At the beginning of every round the large elevator starts moving upwards, taking players with it. Alternatively it is also possible to scale this lower part of the plant by performing successive wall jumps. The rest of the level can be traversed by climbing up a set of stairs on the right or taking an alternate route on the left side.
The Ballroom
On this level the start is located on one of three chandeliers. The game cycles through these options every round. The goal flag is below another chandelier closer to the bottom. There is no ground nor are there any walls on this map.
Space
A large UFO can be seen at the top of the level, sucking characters towards the goal flag coming out of it. The central area of the level is also covered in several giant flaming tennis balls that are lethal to the touch. Players start at the bottom on top of a small platform in the shape of a «Canadarm» connected to a space shuttle. The shuttle itself has no hitbox.
Falling out of the level, getting sucked into the UFO and even going above the level border will lead to the death of a player character, making this level relatively dangerous overall.
Game Modes
This button in the treehouse can be used to switch between gamemodes
The Game Mode is one of the game rules that can be found in the Treehouse menu. It changes the way the game is played. There are currently 4 game modes to select from.
The Rules menu also provides several options for the host to further configure the game which vary depending on the selected game mode.

Party Mode
This is the default game mode. In Party mode at the beginning of each round the so-called Party Box appears, containing several random blocks players can choose between and then place. After placement is over, the characters appear and they are able to go through the level. As soon as all contestants have reached the goal or died, points are distributed and the Party Box appears again. This process continues to repeat itself until a player wins the game or the time/round limit is reached. The winner of the game is the one who manages to reach the point limit first. If the round or time limit is reached before that, the player with the most points wins.
By default, If there are only two players playing and the Double Party Box option in the Game Rules is enabled, they will receive two boxes every round. This means that in total they are able to place just as many items as a group of four players. This mechanic can be disabled or set to be in effect even for more than two players in the game rules.
Sudden death
In the case of a simultaneous arrival at the point limit (scores need not be equal) by multiple players or an equal amount of points between them when the time/round limit is reached, sudden death is activated. In Sudden Death the players keep respawning when they die and the first one to reach the goal wins the game. There is also a one-minute time limit for them to finish. If nobody reaches the goal in time, the game will end in a draw.
Creative Mode
This game mode is very similar to Party Mode but instead of choosing from the Party Box the players can open their inventories and pick any block they want to. The decision of what to pick is not absolute in this mode as players can go back and choose something else if they change their mind. Already placed blocks may be moved instead of placing something new. It’s also possible for the host to configure the amount of blocks a player can place (or move) per round in Creative mode.
Sudden death
Creative mode has sudden death enabled as well and it works the same way as it does in Party mode.
Challenge Mode
This mode allows players to compete for the fastest completion times in custom levels which have been uploaded. For every level there are two leaderboards: One for the overall fastest time and one for the fastest time with all coins. When played with multiple players at the same time, the average of all their times will count towards special leaderboards which are separate from the singleplayer times.
Free Play
In contrast to the other three this game mode is not competitive. The players have an unlimited supply of blocks at hand and can use it to create a custom level layout for saving, uploading and playing in other modes later. While in this mode, players can also hold B (or RMB) to switch between item placement mode and level testing mode at all times. Free play mode also features a selection of exclusive permanent blocks and allows the blank level in the treehouse to be selected.
Movement

Jumps
This is the most essential form of movement for getting on top of or over objects and gaps. The longer the jump button is held, the higher a jump will be. The default jump height is 5 blocks.
Sprint Jump
It is possible to sprint jump from the yellow block to any of the shown blocks
The most useful type of jump is the sprint jump. Sprinting will make the controlled character move a lot faster than normal. This makes it possible to jump much further but also a little harder to control where the character lands. It is generally advised to sprint-jump unless in a special situation.
Slow Jump
Jumping without holding the sprint button is only helpful in a few scenarios. If a jump has to be very precise and is not too far away, this jump is the safer option.
Low Hop
It’s possible to perform a jump that is as low as 1 tile by pressing the jump button very lightly and extremely quickly.
Wall Jump
Wall jumps can be used to get from one object to another that is next to it without landing on top of it or to simply climb up lone walls by pressing the jump button repeatedly while touching them. Sprinting matters while wall-jumping, as characters will bounce back further when sprinting and higher when not sprinting.
Coyote Jump
The Coyote Jump is a normal jump performed after walking off a ledge and is quite common in platformer games. It is possible because there is a small time-frame after walking off a platform during which you can still jump. This technique is mostly used to gain more horizontal range on a jump or to jump around corners.
Black Hole Jump (or Gravity Assist)
By jumping underneath the black hole the player can gain height
The gravitational pull of a black hole can be utilized to boost a player’s jump considerably. This is a very dangerous practice however because most of the time the effect the black hole will have on the player cannot be predicted perfectly.
Two-Tile Jump
One way a player can get through two-tile jumps
When multiple objects create a two units high opening between them, this jump is required. Many players consider this a very annoying jump. Because the player model is almost exactly two units high, getting through such an opening that is not on ground level can be tricky. But normally it is just a matter of patience to succeed this jump. It is advised not to sprint when trying to wall-jump through a two-tile opening. The quick-jump (see below) makes it a lot easier to get through openings like this.
Quick-Jump
A Quick-jump is the fastest way to climb a wall and is necessary when a lethal object such as a spike ball or barbed wire is on top of a wall that has to be vaulted over. To perform a Quick-jump the player has to wall-jump without sprinting and start sprinting right after leaving the wall. This technique can also be used to get through one tile wide gaps from the bottom while wall jumping.
One-Over Jump
One-over jumps allow you to get through a one block wide gap one tile away from the wall. The best way of doing this is using quick-jumps to get into position and then using a regular wall jump without sprinting to slither through.
Wide Wall Jump

If an object on top of a single wall extends two tiles beyond the wall’s side that has to be climbed, this technique is required. The trick is to first jump away from the wall and then go back towards it at the right moment mid-jump so one can get up by jumping off the extended ledge. It is necessary to sprint throughout the entirety of this process.
Spring Jump

If you jump while running into a spring turned sideways, you will jump much higher. Almost as if you jumped off of a spring facing upright. This technique is not only useful for jumping higher but also for tricking other players.
Spring-boosted Wall Jump
By performing a wall jump as close to a spring as possible while having upwards momentum the player can gain a considerable boost to their jump height and distance. This only works if it is on the same level as the wall and is quite difficult to execute because it requires good precision and timing.
Extruding
A very simple extruder design utilizing a blue platform
Extruding is the art of being pushed through a small (1×1) opening by a moving object. It is advised for a player to crouch if they want to extrude because in some circumstances not doing this can lead to being crushed. Alternatively, the extrusion can also happen by standing on top of the object and riding it through a gap.
Sliding
Sliding is very similar to extruding. By running on a surface covered in ice and then ducking, one can slide through one tile high holes.
Crawling or Crouchwalking
While it is normally impossible to control your character while ducking, certain circumstances allow you to crawl through one tile high gaps. The game only allows you to crawl when there already is a block above your head. This can be accomplished by having an object move over your head, riding on an object, sliding or being pushed into a gap.
Wall Sliding
While a narrow miss, slow sliding can mean the difference between life and a stupid death.
Holding up or down while sliding down a wall will change the speed with which the character is moving. This allows you to dodge obstacles that you may end up hitting otherwise. Ice can mess with these tactics but not by much. The slower wall slide also helps with getting into two tiles high openings: Simply holding up and the correct direction while sliding onto it from above will make your character get into the gap.
