In-Game timer application compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux. And works on all game versions 1.0-Present. Also includes an RTA Timer (external link)
The timer supports both RTA and IGT; it’s configurable and supports hotkeys, and also can be seen even if your game is full-screen. Cross platform (although v2 is missing some support for macOS) (external link)
Enchantment RNG Predictor (external link)
This program automatically reads the difficulty, seed, mod, version, IGT, and more to make it easier for the player to submit a run by simply entering only a description, link, RTA. (external link)

This practice datapack create in-chat buttons which let you teleport to a random plains, savannah, desert village, ruined portal, fortress or stronghold, fill your hotbar with the expected loot from a village or the nether, create a lava pool or end portal, reset the ender dragon fight, with the option to practice one-cycling, teleport back to the spot where you died, with all your gear, disable endermen, or track shots at end crystals. I edited the html of http://strongholdfinder.com/ so that it reads input from an F3+C command instead. Instead of copying F3 coords, simply press F3+C to copy a teleport command into your paste buffer, then paste it into the input box. Note that this is a temporary hack solution, and I’ll eventually make a standalone java application which will read from the paste buffer, requiring even less time to get the suggested and stronghold coordinates. Ender Dragon icon from the Minecraft Wiki
Works in every single Minecraft version since 1.0!
Here’s a video (slightly outdated) showing how it works
Click the X in the top-left corner to close the timer.
Click the gear icon in the top-right corner to view the settings, where you can edit the opacity of the timer, set your Minecraft directory, choose which timers you want to use, etc.
There are two timers built into this app. One shows in-game time (IGT), and the other shows real time (RTA). The RTA timer is controlled by hotkeys that you can set in the timer settings.
If the timer uses too much CPU and causes your computer to lag, you can go into the settings and increase the values in the «update interval» fields. Try increasing the RTA interval by increments of 50 until lag is no longer an issue. You can increase the IGT interval too if it’s really bad. This will make the timer update less frequently, but it will still always show an accurate time when stopped or paused.
If you’re using a version before 1.7.2, the IGT timer will not keep track of the in-game time for a specific world because of how the game handled stats back then. So, you’ll have to manually reset the timer by right-clicking on it before starting a new world.
The IGT timer will appear frozen because due to how Minecraft stores its in-game time, it only updates when the game saves. It will update every 5 minutes on autosaves, every time you open the pause menu, and when you go through the exit portal in the End. If you’re using a version before 1.7.2, it’ll also update every 5 seconds.
If you don’t use the default Minecraft directory, then you’ll have to go into the timer’s settings and set it to the directory that you do use.
If the IGT timer doesn’t update when you make a new world, then there are two possibilities. One is that you migrated your Minecraft directory, but the old one still exists and that’s where the timer is reading from. Change your directory to the correct one in the timer’s settings.
Here’s the other possibility: In some Minecraft versions, the IGT timer won’t update on its own when you make a new world. It will still update on saves, so pressing esc twice to pause and unpause the game should cause the timer to show the correct world and time.
The timer reads the in-game time from the world (1.7.2+) or game (1.6.4 and earlier) statistics file, so it will always show an accurate time.
Important Note for Mac: For some people on macOS, the timer will crash if you set hotkeys. If this happens to you, you can reset your hotkeys as follows:
You should be able to open the timer again, provided that you don’t attempt to set hotkeys again.
Important Note for Windows: For some people on Windows, the timer will simply open an error message whenever you try to open it. This usually happens after the user checks the «RTA Timer» box in the settings. To fix this issue, uncheck the box and use only the IGT timer. Unfortunately, the RTA Timer just doesn’t work for some people, and if you’re unlucky enough to be one of them, your only option is to use just the IGT timer. If you really want RTA, you can download a separate timer like Livesplit and use both timers together. Livesplit for RTA, and this one for IGT.
If you still experience issues or have any other questions, you can message me on Discord at NinjaSnail1080#8581 or open an issue here.
That’s about it. Good luck with your speedrun!

Hello. I’d like to get into Minecraft Speedrunning, however, I cannot find a user-friendly timer that works.
I am planning to speedrun Minecraft 1.6.4 on Java 1.8.0 using Windows 8.1. I’ve tried Cbenni’s In-Game timer for 1.6.4 and before, however that doesn’t seem to work. I cannot see it while playing, and the timer never starts. I’ve tried deleting the stats folder and other recommended actions, but it doesn’t work.
I would like to use LiveSplit, but I have basically no programming experience and I cannot figure out how to make it automatically start upon world load and stop upon end credits, let alone all the splits.
Is there a user-friendly guide to setting up LiveSplit to automatically split for Minecraft? If not, is there an easy to use mod/program that I could install that could keep track of the time automatically?

There is a way to get in-game time from LiveSplit.
Go to Edit Splits, change game name to «Minecraft». Game time should be available for 1.6.4 so activate it. Then edit your layout so that everything should be showing in-game time.
If you have any questions please ask.

It still doesn’t seem to work. I’ve set the game to Minecraft, activated game time, and set my timer to display game time. Is there something I’m missing?

Try going to «Compare Against» and select «Game Time»

Do you use splits? If so change all the columns to Game Time in layout settings

All I have on my layout is a timer.

Alright then it may be some sort of bug, I’m not entirely sure.
It isn’t 100% automatic, you have to start and end time manually, but since it’s in-game time it will be very precise anyway and you don’t have to be exact with starting/stopping the time.
If no In-game timer is working, then you can just submit real time but it will take longer for a moderator to verify because we’ll have to get the In game time for ourselves. Or you can manually time it with some sort of video editing software.
United States
Alright. Is there an alternative timer I could use, preferably one that starts automatically?
Alberta, Canada
Unfortunately I don’t think there is other than CBenni’s timer, and I’m not entirely sure why it’s not working for you.
United States
Alright. 🙁 I’ll see what I can do. Thanks.

Go to your stats folder, and make sure that stats_Β€usernameΒ€_unsent.dat is the top file, alphabetically.

Hello I just got live split and need a little bit of help, I selected the game minecraft in splits editor, but dont know what to do from then. btw i want to run set seed glitchless.
What more do you wan to do? Do you want to add the splits? Really all you need to do is just get the seed, start up the world, start the timer, and go. You can look up a tutorial on how to add splits/edit the timer/layout, but as long as you have livesplit, that’s all you need to run ssg. (That and record it).

So i am trying to use livesplit for a set speed glitchless speed run how to i add ingame time to my livesplit
it doesn’t work anymore use the downloadable program in resources
Netherlands
how do i make it so that i can press a key in minecraft and it splits?
btw Im doing SSG any%
United States
@ Ascipy32 Ascipy32 Assuming you’re using livesplit, right click, go into settings and change your split hotkey
