What does this mod add?
This mod currently replaces 21 songs on the Diamond City Radio channel. I didn’t like a good number of the songs already present in the game. So I replaced them with some songs I found to be more enjoyable to squash super mutants brains to! Originally this was just something I put together for myself, but I thought that are most likely people who will appreciate not having to put time and effort into doing something like this themselves! Hope you enjoy the new tunes!

Also as a side note, if anybody has suggestions for other songs to be added just post!

Installation:
Manual Install:
1. Place the data folder into your Fallout 4\.
2. Go to your C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4, and edit your fallout.ini.
3. Find «sResourceDataDirsFinal=» and add «STRINGS\» and «SOUND\» to it. Example: «sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, SOUND\,»
4. Save the file and exit out.
5. Enjoy

NMM Install:
1. Install mod through NMM
5. Enjoy

Credits:
I would like to thank the artists of these songs for some really enjoyable music, and I encourage people who have enjoyed this mod to check out some of the artists and their works!
Also, Bethesda, thanks for the awesome games!

Version 1.0

There’s nothing better than wandering the wastes, listening to the radio and working on our aim.

R4-04, Natural Born Killer and Top 40 Aficionado

Radio Details

* 2k textures (2k diffuse, 2k normal and 1k specular maps)

* Radiation King logo on the front, with an upscale version for the wood model, with the front «fins» restyled to fit the logo. Radiation King label on the back

* Cleaned-up dial, but left just a tiny bit rough to look like there’s some patina when the radio’s off. When the radio’s turned on, the glow cuts through the patina. The glow is turned down from the vanilla settings for a more subtle effect

* Activating the radio also lights up the vents in the back panel

* The tough vinyl face is in excellent condition, but you can see a few smudges in certain lighting conditions. The casing is also in excellent condition but the protective clear coat has a few dings. The back plate is a little scratched up too. It’s far from a wasteland grunge version, but not 100% new either. (But there’s also an optional file if you’d prefer the casings to have no scratch marks.)

NOTE: A couple of the screenshots don’t show the dial very well. Don’t know why. In-game, they’re all equally detailed and sharp.

Location in Crafting Menu

Installation

Install via mod manager or download manually, unzip, and copy the esp and ba2 files into your Fallout4/Data folder. Reverse the process to uninstall.

Optional File: Scratch Remover

For people who’d prefer the casing to have no scratch marks. It’s a loose file that will override the one in the ba2 files. Install via mod manager or download manually, unzip and copy into your Fallout4/Data folder. Reverse the process to uninstall.

Compatibility

This mod doesn’t affect any vanilla records, so should be conflict-free.

File Requirements

None. All you need is the basic Fallout 4 game.

How to Remove a Radio

If the mod makes your crafting menu too cluttered, or you just don’t like one or more of the colours, click the spoiler button for a step-by-step guide on how to remove any number of the radios from your game. It involves Fallout 4 Edit but, no worries, it’s easy as pie.

1. Download FO4 Edit from here and install according to the instructions.

2. Run the FO4Edit.exe file

4. Wait until the program loads all the data. You’ll know it’s done when «Background Loader: Finished» appears at the bottom of the right-hand pane.

5. RadiantlRadiosDCR.esp will be the last entry in the left-hand pane. Click the + sign beside the esp to expand its contents and you’ll see 2 sections: «Activator» and «Constructible Object». Click + to expand those sections to see the the 5 radios inside each one. The colour of each radio is part of its name.

Gratitude

Many thanks to ehtyeci for his work in making the glowing back panel a reality. I’d pretty much given up trying to figure out how to do that but, when I reached
out for help, ehtyeci explained it all in detail and, what’s more, even provided me with a working example. In the words of Travis Lonely Miles, I really do appreciate it. If you like this mod, please consider throwing a Kudo his way.

Main files

Contains all the necessary files. (Now includes ESP)

Optional files

Old files

Miss the Betty Hutton song «Blow a Fuse (It’s Oh So Quiet)»? This file restores it to the mod. Updated to work with NMM.

JRaven Extra Tracks Version 1.1

Use this version of the mod’s files with JRaven’s Extra Tracks mod ( http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2741/? )

JRaven Extra Tracks Version Part 2

A preview of the next 37 songs coming to the mod when I have time to splice them in. These will add as tracks 75-111 in JRaven’s Diamond folder.

Contains all the necessary files.

Contains all the music files. Needs the Extra Tracks mod to function.

This file removes all of Travis’s intros and outros. Use this if you have the volume mismatch bug and are OK with losing the original songs.

2.1 adds about 40 intros/outros we missed on the first pass. Download this instead of redownloading the whole mod to add them. (Updated to work with NMM)

Contains all the necessary files.

If you’re not using the English Fallout or if you’ve been experiencing the audio mismatch bug, use this version of the mod. You’ll get 74 new songs and keep the original ones, but you’ll lose Travis’s intros and outros to the songs.

The mod also disables Travis’s introductions and segues into the default songs. Otherwise, Travis would tell you he’s about to play Grandma Plays the Numbers and then play something else. Hopefully you’ve played the game enough to know all his song-specific jokes. Travis will continue to report the news as usual.

If you miss Travis’s intros too much, this mod restores them by playing around with the files more. If you used MWTCF before version 3.0 and never had the audio-levels bug, you should be able to use both this mod and Elvani’s without any problems.

This is a second mod by me, Old Man Mose, that replaces all the normal songs with Christmas songs. It can be used at the same time as MWTCF for a 40% Christmas, 60% New-Non-Christmas experience.

Note: You can only use one companion mod at a time, but feel free to switch between them, or use neither.

1) If you have Nexus Mod Manager, activate this mod and you’re done. If not, continue to step 2.

2) Unzip the More Where That Came From Archive into your Fallout 4 folder, maintaining the file structure. This should place files in two locations:

3) Edit your Fallout4.ini to replace

sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\

4) Edit your Fallout4Prefs.ini to add the following line under [Launcher]

5) Activate the More Where That Came From Diamond City.esp

6) Turn the radio on and enjoy.

If the radio doesn’t work immediately, turn it off, go fast travel around a bit, enter and exit some locations, and turn it back on. Sometimes Travis gets ‘stuck’ and has to be restarted.

If you’re installing version 3.0 after having used the previous versions of the mod with Nexus Mod Manager, before activating the new versions, you might want to go look in the Data\sound\fx\mus\radio\diamondcity and Data\sound\Voice\Fallout4.esm\NPCMTravisMiles directories to make sure NMM cleared them out.

Sometimes it forgets to clean up the old files, which would result in duplicated songs and tracks.

Just disable the mod in NMM, or delete the files from your Data directory (from both locations).

Many users have reported an audio mismatch between the original songs and the new ones. This is likely due to problems with the way Fallout 4 itself handles sound. It’s a bug dating to Skyrim, actually, and is likely caused by the engine trying to send sound over channels that your speakers don’t support. Try these steps:

— Control Panel > Sound
— Double click the playback device you want.
— To to Enhancements tab.
— Tick Loudness Equalization.

Sometimes the original songs are noticeably louder or softer than the added ones. Turn on loudness equalization in your computer’s sound settings to fix this.

Some people don’t like individual songs. That is too bad. We all have different tastes. Perhaps you’ll like one of the 110 other songs?

1) Roy Brown, «Mr. Houndog’s in Town»
2) Louis Prima, «I’ll Be Glad When You’re Dead (You Rascal You)»
