Ok, I have found the config folder, It is located at C:\Users\YOUR_PC_NAME_HERE\Documents\My Games\Terraria\ModLoader and just delete all the text in it, and see if that helps.
Edit: you have to delete it, after launching the game. Otherwise it was keep coming back. but you need to make sure you delete it after selecting a language or once you reach the title screen.
Edit 2: deleting the config accually works, nothing has changed and I have frame skip on. About a good 27 mods and perfect clean 50-60 fps. if you change ANY settings at all though, you need to delete the file again. the mods include big ones like Thorium, Calamity, Tremor, Spirit mod, and many others that add 100-500+ items.
Last Edit: So to fix the problem, all you need to do is delete the config file located in C:\Users\PC_NAME\Documents\My Games\Terraria\ModLoader ONCE you load into the host and play server, don’t change any settings or do anything to make the file re-appear, and a nice perfect 50-60+ fps with as many mods as you could handle on singleplayer. I don’t know why this does it, but it fixes it. Prob a conflict between vanilla and modded terraria in the settings and deleting the file removes it.

I don’t know if i am doing something wrong but this didn’t help. I still get around 9 fps in multiplayer but it’s perfectly fine in singleplayer. Anyone who joins also gets around 9 fps. I have a few more mods, around 35 in total but i don’t think they would be causing troubles.

PC Terraria Multiplayer Extreme lag

Hello! I wanted to give multiplayer a try, especially now that steam integration is here, however it is not working entirely properly. Hosting or joining multiplayer causes extreme lag for me and I cannot figure out why. I can run other games on multiplayer just fine, singleplayer Terraria has no issues, but when I join multiplayer i get some seriously horrible lag. I have looked up guides on how to fix it but none of them work. It’s not an issue with my internet and it’s not my computer because I know I can run the game just fine on singpleplayer.
I hope I can get some help because I am just frustrated. Thank you!

Here’s what I’ve done that has alleviated some of the heavy lag I’ve experienced. It may work for you as well. Here are three different things you could experiment with.
Option 1: Open task manager, go to Terraria and set priority to high.
Option 2: Go to your library page in Steam, right click and go to properties, click on the «Local Files» tab and click «verify integrity of game cache»
Option 3: Uninstall the game and do a completely clean install. Steam will keep all of your worlds and players, so you don’t have to worry about losing them (this one seems to fix a lot of issues for me).
I’ve exercised every option on this list, and while it has resolved some of the lag spikes and delays in multiplayer, it hasn’t eradicated them completely. Unfortunately, I feel these are temporary solutions until multiplayer gets looked at.

Q: My world has corrupted somehow and will not load properly, what can I do?
A: You may have corrupted the world by using modded clients, computer shutdown before the world could complete the save, or system failure within Terraria that caused the problem. You can try attempting to load your world using TEdit (Download).
Q: My game is not launching, or I get errors regarding XNA/.NET Framework!
A: You can attempt to make sure you have all Game Dependencies first, then try attempting this solution:
