Xmax+ Atlantis

TLDR; 10x mobs, 5x bosses, 40% less experience

Updated version of Xmax+ for TQ:Atlantis with some minor tweaks. It’s an ongoing project so expect changes along the way.

This is mainly made for my play group but I decided to share it for those who’d be interested. It is not intended as a farming mod, but for an entire playthrough from scratch (Mostly in co-op).

No, I’m not interested in making variant versions. You can edit and share it as you wish; all the modified records are available.

I’m open to suggestions, and feedback about balance and changes would be appreciated.

I forgot about one encounter that goes below 1 FPS, the final boss before going to act 3 I believe, after the Titan is killed.

I have stopped playing this mod because eventually the 5x bosses get tedious and I like a more seamless advancement to new levels (using the 10x mod I suggested for Atlantis expansion below that is newer and better balanced). Additionally I had to disable this mod alot for a number of reasons and it probably created more framerate issues than the other mod, but I haven’t fully tested the other 10x mod I’m currently using to see if it has the same issues. However, I am very grateful this mod existed, because it allowed me to play with 10x when the regular mod did not work with Atlantis. And I also miss the potion stack changes!

In Ragnarok there is a quest with the south gate. Upon using your artifact to activate the door you are attacked by more skeletons than any system can handle (thousands of dead skeletons means less than 1 FPS) and the game eventually crashes and the quest then fails to activate in the secondary mod I recommended for Atlantis when on my second try after the crash. I disabled cloud for the character data, removed the temp file data in my character folder from today only without deleting any main files, loaded up the game without any mod (didn’t try it with the other mod because I was fed up but then and just wanted to continue) and easily completed the quest. So that fixed the quest. I then saved and exited, reenabled cloud, choose to upload current data to cloud, and continued with this mod. 🙂

So far that’s the only unplayable area in Ragnarok for this mod.

That mod has less monsters in Atlantis and works better with it. The monsters appear to be the same with this mod here but I’m not totally sure. I guess the difference is it has no balance changes like this one. I did an act 1 boss run to test it and the bosses are only 3x instead of 5x. Not sure on the monster count in other acts and if it’s less. Atlantis frame rates can still be atrocious but definitely playable in comparison to this mod here.

I’m going to continue using this 10x mod here because I like 5x bosses, act one being the BIG exception. 🙂 I play solo. Still, this mod IS beatable solo (with ranged at least). You have to exploit a bit and some early bosses require dying once so they won’t all aggro simultaneously.

My goal for this post, for those who enjoy this mod here and want to keep playing it, but need a replacement for the Atlantis expansion until we get more balance changes!
